This is going to be really simple. I am going to try and cover 1 point to consider in 3-4 fantasy sports on a nightly basis. As anyone who may have read some of my work at lostsports101.blogspot.com you will know that I have a tendency not to live up to my frequency promises but this is new so who knows.
Baseball: Watch this World Series closely. Every spring when guys start building draft boards and putting together their got-to have lists a World Series hero always slips 3-4 rounds higher than they should be and a World Series dud slips 3-4 rounds lower than they should. I will be updating this list as the series goes on and I can do some more research but think about these guys:
2007 WS/2008 Draft: Jon Lester and Josh Beckett
2006 WS/2007 Draft: Justin Verlander/Braden Looper
2005 WS/2006 Draft: Jermaine Dye/ Brad Lidge
Football: Go and trade for Dominic Rhodes- he is not going to be available in your league but if/when Addai comes back its going to be a platoon at best Rhodes is just to good and Addai has not had a good year even before the injury.
Hockey: If your league counts any of the following categories use 1/2 bench spots on goalies treat them just like your fantasy baseball closers, if closers could get you 4 categories: Saves, Shutouts, Wins.
Basketball: Why does everyone think that the #1 overall pick is worth so much. For the last 3 years in every fantasy sport there has been so much fuss over the #1- to the point that people assume they are guaranteed playoff pay dirt with the number one pick. Just look at this years consensus #1's and then think about why you couldn't have any of these 5 Fantasy bball 1st rounders:
2007-8 Football: LDT- Did you make the playoffs-or did you make a frustrated trade 1/2way through the year just to make the playoffs
2008-9 Football: LDT- Are you going to make the playoffs- or are you going to make a frustrated trade just to make the playoffs
2008 Baseball- Arod
2008-9 Basketball: CP3 or LeBron. It doesnt matter, either of those 2 or any of these 3 and you will be fine (fine and is not having totally screwed your first round pick): Kobe, D Wade, or Amare Stoudemire. I would trade down any of the picks 1-3 to get the 4 or 5 and a late pick. They are just way to similar.
